Pitic® receives evaluation of excellence in environmental performance

Since 2013 Pitic® has voluntarily participated in the Clean Transportation Program, an initiative developed by the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) and the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT); Mainly aimed at freight and passenger transport companies, both urban and foreign, as well as companies that use the cargo service.

The objectives of the Clean Transportation Program are to reduce:

• fuel consumption.
• Greenhouse gas emissions and criteria pollutants (NOx and PM10 and PM2.5).
• Transportation operating costs.

The foregoing is achieved with the adoption of strategies, technologies and best practices that influence transportation to be more efficient, safe and sustainable; thereby increasing the competitiveness of the sector.

Thanks to all the fuel saving technologies and practices at Pitic®, 5.8 million liters of fuel were saved in 2015, thereby receiving an environmental performance evaluation of excellence from the Clean Transportation Program due to the reduction of 15,994 tons of CO2
