MEXICO CLIMBS ONE POSITION IN THE LOGISTICS INDEX IN EMERGING MARKETS

March 4th, 2016

Of the 45 main emerging economies worldwide, the logistics industry in Mexico ranked as the eighth best positioned within a global index, advancing one position in the 2016 classification, compared to a previous year.

For the seventh time, the firm Agility released its Emerging Markets Logistics Index, where more than 1,100 international industry executives rate 45 emerging markets, considering their size, business conditions, infrastructure and other factors that make them attractive to logistics providers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, air cargo companies and distributors.

The geographical position of Mexico, located below the United States, its trading partner in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) together with Canada, reserves a place for it within the top 10 rankings in the index for the size of trade generated in this region, although other countries have also made efforts to improve their position.
