The importance of a good digital strategy

December 11th, 2020

There has been an increase in online purchases during 2020, due to known factors such as the pandemic, social distancing and the closure of commercial establishments, so today it is more effective to have a digital sales strategy for your deal.

Customers now enter your business virtually; Technology has advanced so much that it is no longer necessary to have a physical establishment for your business. It is more practical and effective to make purchases online.

The Mexican Association of Online Sales (AMVO) indicated that 2 out of 10 stores in the country have experienced growth greater than 300% in their online sales.

But, setting up an online store does not automatically mean being successful, more than anything it is about having a good digital strategy for your business, so that it operates effectively digitally.

“The technology game is one of anticipation and planning; You should always think about the time when you can sell more, there are more customers, and there are operations in other countries. That is the main incentive for any business that wants to be successful in the long term. Digitization goals are not in the sense of just acquiring technology, modernizing or changing equipment. The point of a digital strategy is to establish where you want to go and then implement, select, execute all the strategies and processes that feed that vision of serving the customer”.

Technology covers all areas, and in this case we can see it clearly as in this year with the result obtained during the Good End, where thousands of users made their purchases exclusively through Online stores.

For example, THE ECOMMERCE IN THE GOOD END: TOTAL INCREASE

During the Good End last November, companies took advantage of the power of eCommerce as a benefit to attract their customers. Online sales and users increased more this year due to the pandemic situation, so in the Good End the highest increase online was already coming than in previous years. Even in baby boomer users, who have already made purchases on sales specials such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

This year the increase was almost 60%. And although the study does not specify the sales that were successful through this type of platform, it does show the tendency that more and more users have towards eCommerce.

“Every second of every day, 14 people create a new social media account, and amid physical distancing around the world, the need for brands to adapt and reorganize to keep up with complex changes and expectations of consumer lifestyle has not only increased”

The 73% of all marketers said "attracting the most new customers" was their top goal for social media in 2021, compared to last year's 46%, which is up from the 58% year-over-year."

As for the popularity to use social networks, Instagram is in the lead, since a 60% of companies plan to increase their budget for this social network, while the other networks that are looking to have more budget in 2021 are Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn.
