Senators ask CAMe for technical reasons for environmental contingency

The Third Commission in the Senate of the Republic approved a point of agreement to request a report from the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAMe) on the technical reasons that motivated the temporary measures to prevent, control and minimize the period of environmental contingency in the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM) that began on April 5.

Likewise, the legislators requested a detailed report on the actions that are going to be implemented to combat poor air quality, this is because the emergency norm only contemplates some of the proposals suggested by the working groups that the scientific committee reviewed. of the CAMe.

In another approved opinion, the legislators asked the governments of the 32 states to modernize the public passenger transport units, in order to reduce the polluting particles they emit. on May 25, by Senator Silvia Garza Galván, of the PAN Parliamentary Group, who said that as of July 1, when the emerging vehicle verification standard comes into force, public transport must be verified with more demanding standards. , which causes an urgency to renew the fleet.
