Durango — With the aim of turning the state of Durango into a logistics node of great importance, the federal government inaugurated the so-called 'Twin Bridges' and modernized Armando del Castillo Franco Boulevard. The investment was 542.6 million pesos (mp).

Gerardo Ruiz Esparza, Secretary of Communications and Transportation, explained that these works are part of the complementary infrastructure to the Mazatlán-Durango highway and allow the traffic that increased significantly with this new highway to be relieved.

With these two bridges, which are complemented by two tunnels known as Negro Norte and Negro Sur, in addition to road works in an extension of 1.8 kilometers, the 30,000 daily vehicles that circulate through this point can be relieved, he said.

Jorge Herrera Caldera, governor of the state, explained that these complementary works of the Cordón Vial del Norte connect various areas of the state capital, where two road distributors are pending, for which an investment of 450 million pesos is required.

He also mentioned that these infrastructure works benefit the state, which is about to become a logistics node of great importance in the north of the country.

He assured that the state has water, connectivity and electricity to supply companies of any size and line of business; In addition, there are eight universities, three more under construction and the construction of the entity's first bilingual technology center will soon begin.
