Transportes Pitic

clean transportation, is a national, voluntary program created and operated by SEMARNAT (Secretariat of the Environment and Natural Resources) together with the SCT (Secretariat of Communications and Transportation).

In 2009, the Federal Government of Mexico adopted a series of measures to combat climate change. Among the 187 measures provided for in the action plan against climate change, the Clean Transportation Program stands out, whose main objective is to reduce the volume of polluting emissions emitted into the atmosphere by heavy duty vehicles and in turn help companies save costs, thus increasing their competitiveness. Adherence to this program is voluntary for companies and since its launch, a total of 146 companies have joined the initiative, such as Cemex, Transportes Falcón, Wal Mart de México, Grupo Intra and Bimbo, among others, as well as more than 118,000 tractors.

On April 22 of this year, Transportes Pitic received the welcome letter to participate in this program and on June 23 the performance report was issued notifying the company with an excellent environmental performance. According to the metrics of the Clean Transportation program, in 2013 fuel savings of 5,275,566 (Liters/Year) were obtained, thereby reducing 14,349.75 (Tons/Year) of CO2 emissions into the environment.

All this has a great benefit, Transportes Pitic through its good practices and modern fleet saves fuel and at the same time reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
